The role
The main objective for the role of the Content Manager is to oversee all of the content needs for the projects within a client hub, working with both internal and external team members, ensuring content is developed from concept to final sign off for our clients and ensuring on-brief, on-time and under-budget delivery.
The Content Manager reports to the Project Manager, Senior PM and the Senior Manager.
Key accountabilities
- Accountable for ensuring the appropriate quality controls are in place across the projects in their hub that will meet the satisfaction of the client.
- Accountable for ensuring that there is correct resourcing in place for the content and editorial needs of the projects within the hub.
- Accountable for ensuring the briefing, contracting and commissioning and quality procedures are followed.
- Accountable for monitoring the schedules and budgets for content delivery, working closely with the PM.
Responsibilities
- Ensure clients are provided with a professional, responsive, and rewarding customer experience, delivering to the brief.
- In collaboration with the Senior Project Manager, identify, resource, and manage the content creation process across the projects within their hub, on time, and on budget.
- Manage editorial freelancers and in-house editors.
- Prepare editorial briefs.
- Take responsibility for quality assurance checks of content development and all stages of editorial production.
- Oversee the editorial QA stages for all projects to the highest standard, utilizing methods and tools as appropriate.
- Be involved at all stages of the content development process (manuscript development and author feedback, content/copy editing, artwork review, photo selection, audio preparation, recording attendance and post-production feedback, proofreading).
- Liaise with the digital content team to resolve content queries for digital adaptation.
- Provide training or refresher sessions to editors.
- Identify resourcing needs and manage the content resources as needed for each project, including translators, various editors, proofreaders, illustrators, audio producers, and designers.
- Ensure the content team, per project, is fully briefed, onboarded, and has clear guidelines, using TCS checklists and guidance documents as needed.
- Review all content created by others for appropriateness, quality, and accuracy.
- Ensure all client guidelines have been adhered to, and all acceptance criteria met, at all agreed milestones.
- Attend client-facing and internal meetings, as needed for each project.
- Be prepared to troubleshoot and work with a solutions-based approach.
